Inscribed: "I see the Moon the Moon sees me" with a crescent moon on the outside and "God bless the Moon and God bless me" on the inside of a child's cuff. Like most children's verse these familiar lines are well known but anonymous. They first appeared in The Nursery Parnassus published in England around 1783, and have been reprinted many times since.
